On 15 August, the Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) hosted a Disability Campaign Bootcamp at the AMWU building for HACSU members in disability to get rally-ready!

Delegates and activists from across Victoria attended to build their skills in organising and campaigning. Many HACSU officials including the State Secretary, Paul Healey, and Assistant State Secretary, Rebecca Sprekos, spoke at the event – HACSU also launched their new Disability Plan for building a better NDIS.

Members also took a moment to stand in solidarity with their comrades in Public Mental Health, by donning cowboy hats for a photo. They wore high vis vests and hard hats to symbolise the new Disability campaign "do you see us now?", which recognises all of the invisible labour that Disability Support Workers do.

Disability support workers are skilled, essential, professionals - but we've been invisible for too long! Do you see us now?
