The Health and Community Services Union State Secretary, Paul Healey, spoke with The Age on 7 September about the funding crisis in Disability.

He said: “Five thousand of Victoria’s most vulnerable people will potentially be left homeless without services, without support, and will be thrust out of the homes they have had for a long time because of the failures of the NDIS and the state government."

The article covered the harrowing impacts that are already resulting from the Victorian government's subsidy for Victorian transferred Disability Service Providers coming to an end on 31 December 2025. It went into detail about the worries of a mother for her son – Jeremy Soafkin, a long-term resident of a Camberwell group home – as his home is threatened by closure due to the funding crisis.
